Erika is going to ITALY
Lisa Wolford Wylam has introduced
Batdorf to the Workcenter
of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards in Pontedaro, Italy where
she has been invited from February 15-19
for an exchange of work/process/ideas...
Erika and Kate Digby—her long time collaborator—will share Batdorf's technique and excerpts of work created with this technique, and the Workcenter will share their process and some work... very fun!
Kate and Erika intend to use this trip to plan a long term Institute for the work and will finally give it a name!!! (So far referred to as physical/emotional connection, Kinesthetic Transference, the Batdorf technique... none of which they like so far!!! Any ideas for names??? send them to erika@batdorf.org)
Workshops
Many of you have been asking Erika when she will teach outside York well... keep your eyes open for more information on when this school/institute/training center/intensive... or whatever it will be called—will be announced!
Likely Spring 2011... with weekly sessions perhaps starting January 2011...
One Pure Longing
Look for Erika's next show One Pure Longing June 2011...
this very exciting show that she has been working on for a long time,
inspired by the poetry of Tahirih with a diverse cast of 6 will finally
be mounted at Buddies in Bad Times!!!
This is likely to be her most exciting work to date! You cannot miss
this! June 11-14th- watch for details...
Erika is going to try and twitter... yikes- BUT around a specific idea...
not what she had for breakfast!Having spent the last few years fundraising,
producing, directing, teaching, running a grad program... she is tired
of not doing the work she leads people through herself!!! AND ENOUGH
IS ENOUGH! SO...
She is going to try and use her own principles/technique to get back
into shape
SLOWLY... and she is calling it 'the search for her healthy animal...'
maybe she will succeed- maybe she will not... it's a reality twitter

will not be teaching anywhere else this summer... she needs time to find
that healthy animal!
So she can practice what she preaches! but maybe, if people keep harassing
her... she will start a weekly class in September...
